Are you ready to train for and finish the ODDyssey Half Marathon? Our 2012 team will be forming in February and you should join us! Training will beging in February to allow runners to complete the 2012 Broad Street Run and continue on to conquer the ODDyssey!
For the past five years our team has trained together to run the Broad Street Run, ODDyssey Half Marathon, Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon, Philadelphia Marathon and Ragnar Relay. Each race has been an overwhelming success. We have had many members who had never run a distance race before and came out beating their expectations.
Last year I lost 10 lbs, beat my goal by six minutes and improved my mile time on short distances (5ks) by two minutes per mile! Best of all, you always have someone to run with and make new friends in the process. I would not have been in shape to run so many major races last year if not for the help of my teammates.
Join our training team and reap the benefits of having the discipline of a training program, the mentorship of a coach and a gaggle of teammates to push you on.
The team kicks off February 25, 2012 and meets every Saturday at 10am for your long run. We run from center city and local parks like Kelly Drive and Valley Forge.
The program also includes 3-4 workouts per week (depending on your fitness level and goals) which will be on your own. (or with any of the score of new running buddies you can rope into an after work run).
Cost: $69 for the program. This includes the training program and individual training from the coach, a technical team jersey made from fast wicking fibers suitable for running long distances, invaluable team camaraderie, organized weekly group runs, and snacks and water at all group runs. This does not include your entry fees to races.
Coach Mike has actually run more marathons than he can count over the years and done it all well living the busy life of a professional and father. Last year he completed an over 80 mile ultra-marathon and the Ragnar Relay Pennsylvania relay series. He knows what it is like to squeeze in training runs after a long day at the office and has designed this plan for busy professionals.
The plan has a long run every weekend and then builds the weekday runs to be flexible to fit in your schedule.
You receive a 15 Week Program that will take you from running 3 miles a 3-4 times a week all the way to running a half marathon.
There are options for either Beginner or Intermediate plans and each plan is moldable to your skill level.
The training plan is integrated into the training team for just $69.00.
